My name is Anthony Simpson, I was born in 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, and my family moved to Oakland, California in the late ’60s. After high school, I went into the US Navy and served for 6 years with an Honorable discharge. I started my career working for the government at the Naval base in Alameda where I became a machinist journeyman for 16 years. During my last few years there, I was blessed to come to know the Lord and receive Christ in my life. I change careers and became an Industrial Maintenance mechanic; this broaden my knowledge of facilities. We moved to Sacramento and I continued in this field for over 20 years, working in the BioTech world and as a union employee it was very rewarding. In the last five years before I retired, I became the Safety Rep for over 3,000 employees, during this time I traveled to other states for training in safety to further my knowledge in the field. I currently serve at the Center of Parise as a Safety/Facility person to use what God has blessed me with as a way to give back. I have now been married for over 33 years, and I have 4 children, 3 sons, and a daughter, also 7 grandchildren.
