Grew up in a strong musical family where my dad Clarence McEwen Sr. was a music director for over 40 years. Originally from Chicago, Illinois moved to Sacramento, Ca. in 2003 and became a member of Center of Praise. Served under the Pastoral leadership of Bishop Parnell M. Lovelace Jr.
I’ve been committed to Center of Praise Ministries since 2005 as the lead bassist until 2019 when I accepted the role as Music Director over the Worship & Fine Arts Department. Since we’ve assembled a top notch professional anointed Band, two worship teams, TAM (Theater Arts Ministry) MOP (Motions of Praise) and VOP (Voices of Praise choir). I also oversee our Visual and Audio teams. We now have over 100 people serving under WAFA and will continue to grow.
As a professional bassist I’ve performed and ministered with gospel artists such as, Donnie Mcclurkin, Cece Winans, and Geoffrey Golden to name a few. I’ve recorded bass on albums such as The Unlimited Ensemble (I Believe), Daryl Black (Light Up the World) and the GMWA Youth Mass Choir 2000 Live In New Orleans and others over the years.
